Children are no different to adults when it comes to their eyes and vision. Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular dystrophy can also occur in little people including babies.

Fun facts about your child’s vision and eye health.  Annual eye exams for children should be as important as visits to the doctor, paediatrician and dentist.

Comprehensive eye examination can detect early eye disease ( glaucoma, cataract, macula dystrophy, amblyopia, strabismus and eye cancers.

Early eye examination also detect uncorrected Hypermetropia (longsighted), Myopia (shortsighted), and Astigmatism.  Amblyopia, Strabismus, when detected early, can be treated quicker and easier if children have annual eye examinations.

Glaucoma in a 5 month old baby, cataract in a 6 month old baby as well as her 3 year old brother, not to forget our 6 year old patient that was diagnosed with macular dystrophy.  Vision related learning difficulties can often appear as ADHD in 25% of  children, so a diagnosis of glasses can be a relief to a concerned parent.

Children now have the opportunity to come to a safe and fun space and participate or play games aimed at their ability so we can assess their visual function and eye health”.
